Sound Box

Sound Box: prototype of a mp3 player, based on Arduino, controlled by a motion sensor (2014).

Sound Box was created in Spring 2014, with the cooperation of Fabrizio Rizzuti, as a prototype for a small interactive device able to play MP3 files to be used in a project about the sonification of a museum. Sound Box is a simple and compact system able to reproduce sound controlled via a infrared motion sensor. The sensor is used to start the playback of audio tracks from an MP3 player connected to the Arduino. The device has proved to be very robust and reliable with an attractive potential in the design of interactive sound installations.
