Siccità – Visual Sounds Aural Paintings (VSAP)

Siccità ("drought" in English) is the first work of a series called: Visual Sounds Aural Paintings (VSAP).

A painting and a cassette tape explore the same theme through different sensory channels.
Only analog processing systems and mixing of materials recorded on other cassettes was used to create the sounds recorded on the cassette. Just at the end, the final version of the tape was recorded on a computer to allow the distribution of the audio over the network.

The audio recording and the original work, the painting and the cassette, are on sale through bandcamp. The cassette is a unique copy attesting the whole process of manipulation of the sounds.

The duration of the cassette is 60 minute.
The dimensions of the painting are: 45x45x5 cm.

Environmental issues related to the problem of global warming and the in/sustainable growth of human activities are at the center of the first work of the VSAP series. The first theme is therefore drought ("siccità" in italian): hotter summers each year highlight the problem of the imbalance in the water cycle. Thus, periods of drought and water shortage followed by sudden and excessive rains that cause floods, exasperating the problem of the hydrogeological instability of the territory as a result of abandonment or, worse, of devastation caused by human activities.
